2022 Edition

This year’s festival, which is being organised by the MUSIKDRAMA Musical Association under the artistic direction of Elisabetta Maschio, will be entitled ‘LaRéunion’: a name that stands for twenty years of building an extraordinary musical community. This will be celebrated during the festival days with those who have been the protagonists of ‘the orchestra since 2002’. Yesterday’s young people who have become today’s music and entertainment professionals together with the current musicians of the LaRé orchestra will be on the festival bill. But also those who did not follow the path of a music career will participate in the meetings designed to reunite and reconnect.

Different ensembles (large orchestra, classical orchestra, percussion ensemble, harp ensemble, just to name a few) will be especially formed for the 20th anniversary and will involve LaRé orchestra musicians, both past and present.

Also featuring will be Federica Rosellini, recent winner of the UBU award for best actress under 35, the VenEthos Ensemble, the quartet winning the ‘Diapason découverte’ award for their recent Mozart CD, and singer Anna Farronato with the show ‘Broadway, baby’.

The historic village of Asolo will be a meeting point for old and new Réjouissancers, and the former will share with the latter the meaning and impact that moment of togetherness and mutual learning had. Their ideas for a continuation of this ‘being together’ will be the subject of a dedicated conference.

This year,  Gioie Musicali will be engaging teenagers and young people of different skills and backgrounds with workshops and masterclasses.

Once again Stefano Baroni will lead a ‘circular music’ workshop involving both the LaRé orchestra conducted by young maestro Petar Matosevich and the public on World Music Day (21 June). We will also be joined by Francesco Socal with his Klezmer music workshop and by Bruno De Simone holding a lyrical singing masterclass in association with the Erard Academy of Cupramontana, including a final concert.

Elisabetta Battaglia will be holding an opera workshop in collaboration with the Agogica APS association, featuring a young opera star, Federica Vitali, and performing Suor Angelica by Giacomo Puccini.

The Gioie Musicali 2022 Award, 3rd edition, will once again be conferred on a prestigious name, Giovanni Antonini.

As per tradition, we will also hear the performance of the young winner of this year’s City of Piove di Sacco National Competition

The personalities of the teachers and young talents will have a showcase at Casa Malipiero in the interviews by cultural journalist Marina Grasso, linking the name of Gian Francesco Malipiero to their stories of experience and hope. In collaboration with the Centro studi Malipiero, the year 2022 will mark the third cycle of interviews (the first two have already been released on social media), as we gradually work towards the 50th anniversary of the death of the great Venetian musician who lived in Asolo for a long time.
